IZAK & CHANELL BEUKES

Founding Pastors

Izak & Chanell had been an active part of the Christ Life Ministries congregation under Pastors Gerrit & Lené Grobler (you can scroll down to read their endorsement) for about 8 years when God called them to full-time ministry in December 2021.

It was not unexpected, considering what the Lord had already shared about their destinies in personal revelations, the desires burning in their spirits, confirmations in the form of several prophecies (among others from Prophet André Bronkhorst, who personally mentored them) and the histories of their backgrounds. They had long trusted God to indicate the start and location of His ministry through them to be revealed in His perfect timing, but nonetheless spent several weeks in prayer to double check that it is, beyond any doubt, God’s will that they undertake this quest. It is an assignment that they view in a most serious light.

The time has now arrived and they are devotedly pursuing the works that the Lord want to establish through them in the Mossel Bay community, determined to represent Him correctly. They treasure seeing people connected to Jesus in intimate personal relationship, liberated from past failures or disappointments, awakening to their true identities as defined by Him, and having His salvation manifest more fully and with power in their lives.

Married since April 2012, they have served God together as a couple for their whole marriage, having already served Him individually long before they met each other. Their hearts are sold out to the Lord and His purposes and they are convinced that healthy families and specifically marriages are important vehicles through which He advances His kingdom. They have acquired extensive knowledge of different temperaments and are both trained as Evergreen Parenting facilitators in support of this vision.

IZAK BEUKES – Founding pastor

“Gospel” means “good news”… If preached correctly, it stays good, and it stays news!

Izak grew up in the Christian faith, regularly attending church, but became more progressively and painfully aware that his application of what he was taught did not translate into meaningful breakthroughs in his everyday life. This frustration ultimately culminated in him rejecting everything about religion as a lie (something you can perhaps identify with!) for a while.

Then, in August 2004, he had a first supernatural encounter with the Lord and was baptised in the Holy Spirit. This event completely changed the trajectory of his life, marking the start of an increasingly intimate relationship with God and lifelong desire to learn to know Him more and wholeheartedly serve Him. He quickly became and has been involved in ministry since, leaving a chemical engineering career behind in the process; he fondly remembers a word once spoken over him: “God made you an engineer, but your heart was much more after Him!”.

He has led numerous cell groups among young adults, small groups at men’s camps and teams on evangelistic outreaches. He has served on the church council and was invited to preach the Word of God from time to time. He has helped to organise and present around 80 kids/youth camps, where he invites people to enter relationship with the Lord and equips young leaders to grow and minister to their peers in dependence on the Holy Spirit. Izak also has a special anointing for hosting the presence of God in worship – even prophetically – and has served as worship leader for roughly 12 years, after already worshiping in the church’s worship team for several years before that.

Along the journey he has discovered the joy of being in God’s presence, the peace that comes with hearing and obeying His voice, the growth that comes from embracing His Word, the fulfilment of extending His love to His people, the excitement of the power of the Holy Spirit and His gifts, the importance of seeking and building the kingdom of God, and living in His perfect will.

Izak is passionate about making room for the Holy Spirit to express Himself, understanding God’s righteousness, teaching accurate and liberating truth and to reveal God’s nature as His ambassador. He is eager to see people liberated from bondage and experiencing the victory of walking in the calling that God has for their lives, utilising their gifts and talents for the benefit of the body of Christ. In short, he desires that Jesus Christ gets everything He paid for on the cross!

CHANELL BEUKES – Founding pastor

"Relationship with God is having one milkshake, and two straws."

Chanell already surrendered her life to Jesus at the age of 8 years. She remembers loving Him and deeply desiring to know Him better, but feeling that God is far away and inaccessible. It was her impression that she should not impose on His time, since He is extremely busy looking after more important matters and people. Consequently she had a lot of reverence and respect for God, but did not experience any closeness to Him.

That all changed when she attended a youth camp in senior high school, where she discovered that her relationship with God could be intimate, direct and uninterrupted. She realized that it is His intention to do life with her – and not just on Sundays, but every day. She found that traditional ideas, such as which prescribed timeslots to set apart for God or which set tasks to perform for Him, gave way to a mindset of habitually involving Him in every activity and every moment.

Chanell radiates that relationship with the Lord is meant to be up close and personal, authentic and in a sense even romantic. She resists the notion of compartmentalising God into a box, instead intentionally allowing Him to permeate every area of her life while openly declaring that none of them make any sense without Himself being the integral centre of it. Unsurprisingly, she regards worship as a lifestyle rather than an act in itself.

These learnings inspired her to author the book Everyday with Jesus: A practical guide that will help your child discover a relationship with Jesus and establish Christian core principles under the instruction of the Holy Spirit. Her approach to God continues to be bold and from childlike innocence.

Chanell has formed part of many study and cell groups, usually leading them. She dedicated a year of her life to leading a team doing a service year for Christ and another to serve at women’s and men’s camps. She remained involved with youth-, kids- and leaders’ camps (already totalling about 120) in various capacities, ministering forgiveness and healing – both physical and especially emotional.  She is a supernaturally gifted formidable leader who is passionate about developing leaders and challenging them to raise their standards of serving in the kingdom of God.

She is a qualified Life Coach, uniquely equipping her to approach the application of biblical truths with grounded practicality as she expresses her enthusiasm for personal development, growth and progress of individuals. She is a dynamic and creative speaker who ministers from the whisper of God’s voice with her prophetic anointing and in easily understood simplicity. She desires to feast on life in all the abundance that Jesus declared He came for and living in the victory that He won.

ENDORSEMENT FROM CHRIST LIFE MINISTRIES

Izak & Chanell was blessed and released from Christ Life Ministries at their New Season Conference on 6 March 2022. Below are some of their thoughts:

“Our friends Izak and Chanell Beukes are embarking on a new adventure. They are starting a ministry! They are going to Mossel Bay and they’re starting a church there as the Holy Spirit told them to do. It blesses me so much that they would take such a step and start a ministry. They have been only a blessing to us at Christ Life Ministries. In their time with us, they served without reserve. They received the ministry wholeheartedly. They gave extravagantly. Our hearts became woven together in a friendship that will stand forever.

Izak is a worshiper who hears the Voice of God, and who ministers life. He ministered alongside me, and the worship songs always complemented the Word without prior arrangement. Izak also preaches powerfully. Chanell can disarm and destroy offenses and barriers in people’s hearts. She easily helps people move out of their emotional baggage. She is so powerful in ministering love and joy to people. She also ministers the Word in power. Both of them walk in revelation of Who Jesus is.

Though there are multiple people God has raised up in the Mossel Bay area to minister the Gospel, I can unreservedly recommend them and I endorse what they are bringing to that area. This is still early days, and I will share any details they make available of their services as they emerge. But just so you know, something good is coming to Mossel Bay in the near future.”

STATEMENT OF FAITH

We believe in:

The Holy Scriptures as originally given by God, divinely inspired, infallible, entirely trustworthy; and the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

One God, eternally existent in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Our Lord Jesus Christ, God manifest in the flesh, His virgin birth, His sinless human life, His divine miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension, His mediatorial work, and His personal return in power and glory.

The salvation of lost and sinful man through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ by faith apart from works, and regeneration by the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the believer is enabled to live a holy life, to witness and work for the Lord Jesus Christ.

The unity of the Spirit of all true believers, the Church, the Body of Christ.

The resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

The baptism in water, immersing the believer in water as a demonstrative confession of identification with Christ in burial and resurrection.

The communion, partaking in the Lord’s Supper of bread and wine, representing His body broken and the new covenant of His blood in remembrance and proclamation of His death until He comes.

The baptism in the Holy Spirit, empowering and equipping believers for service, with the accompanying supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit; and in fellowship with the Holy Spirit.

The fellowship is open to any further truth which the Holy Spirit may illuminate from the Scriptures.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ appointed two ordinances: Baptism in water and the Lord’s Supper, to be observed as acts of obedience and as perpetual witnesses to the cardinal facts of the Christian Faith, that Baptism is the immersion of the believer in water as a confession of identification with Christ in burial and resurrection, and that the Lord’s Supper is the partaking of the emblems symbolic of the Saviour’s broken body and shed blood, in remembrance of His sacrificial death, until He comes.

We believe in the baptism in the Holy Spirit, empowering and equipping believers for service, with the accompanying supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit; and in fellowship with the Holy Spirit.

We believe in the divinely ordained ministries of the Apostle, Prophet, Teacher, Pastor, and Evangelist.

We believe that divine healing was provided for in the Old and New Testaments, and is an integral part of the Gospel.

Values

POWER

  • 1 Corinthians‬ ‭2:4‬ ‭AMPC‬‬
And my language and my message were not set forth in persuasive (enticing and plausible) words of wisdom, but they were in demonstration of the [Holy] Spirit and power [a proof by the Spirit and power of God, operating on me and stirring in the minds of my hearers the most holy emotions and thus persuading them].
  • 1 Corinthians‬ ‭4:20‬ ‭AMPC‬‬
For the kingdom of God consists of and is based on not talk but power (moral power and excellence of soul).

FELLOWSHIP

  • John‬ ‭16:7‬ ‭AMPC‬‬
However, I am telling you nothing but the truth when I say it is profitable (good, expedient, advantageous) for you that I go away. Because if I do not go away, the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you [into close fellowship with you]; but if I go away, I will send Him to you [to be in close fellowship with you].
  • John‬ ‭17:21‬ ‭AMPC‬‬
That they all may be one, [just] as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be one in Us, so that the world may believe and be convinced that You have sent Me.
  • 1 John‬ ‭1:3‬ ‭AMPC‬‬
What we have seen and [ourselves] heard, we are also telling you, so that you too may realize and enjoy fellowship as partners and partakers with us. And [this] fellowship that we have [which is a distinguishing mark of Christians] is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ (the Messiah).

IMPACT

  • John‬ ‭15:8‬ ‭AMPC‬‬
When you bear (produce) much fruit, My Father is honored and glorified, and you show and prove yourselves to be true followers of Mine.
  • Ephesians‬ ‭2:10‬ ‭AMPC‬‬
For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].
  • Ephesians‬ ‭1:10‬ ‭AMPC‬‬
[He planned] for the maturity of the times and the climax of the ages to unify all things and head them up and consummate them in Christ, [both] things in heaven and things on the earth.
